The Olivia de Sola-Barnes Scholarship Fund

Olivia loved Stagekids. For her it wasn’t about the final performance or the spotlight, it was the camaraderie of the kids and the creative process of acting that she loved most. Olivia attend Stagekids for three years, from age 6-8. Her roles included an Indian girl in the 2016 production of ‘Tarzan’, Lady Allison of Nar in the 2017 production of ‘Knights of the Round Table’, and one of Pinnochio’s daughters in the 2018 production of Pinnochio in Japan’.

In December of 2018, Olivia was diagnosed with brain cancer, specifically DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). DIPG is a high-grade tumor that is incurable and terminal.  The average life expectancy for children is about 9 months. Olivia passed away 1 month later on January 16th, 2019, at her home in Big Sur.

In honor of Olivia, her family has created a scholarship for a child to attend Stagekids for one week. The requirements  are that the child lives in Big Sur and is of financial need.

Please donate, share, and help fund research towards a cure for DIPG, in honor of Olivia, at this site: https://unravelfor.everydayhero.com/us/olivia-de-sola-barnes
